Description
This class focuses on the ballroom dances of the 1800’s: Couple dances including Waltz, Polka, Mazurka, Gallop, as well as Quadrilles and Cotillions. We will be working on “The Bohemian National Polka” as choreographed by Richard Powers, “The Royal Scotch Quadrille” as devised by Thomas Wilson, and some Mazurka steps brought back from my recent trip to the Czech Republic. No experience or partner necessary. Cost: $10 per two-hour class or $70 for the 8-week course.
Future classes will look at Ragtime era dances.
